If you’re in a major city, you’ve probably seen the “Kidnapped” propaganda posters taped onto walls, lamp posts, and bus stops. The artists, Brooklyn-based Nitzan Mintz and Dede Bandaid, believe the posters will rally support for killing more Palestinians and invading Gaza. Any kidnapped civilian is a tragedy and they should be rescued. However, this is not the purpose of the posters.
The zionist Kidnapped posters are designed to seem innocuous but have genocidal implications. The artists don’t “just want the hostages back” as they claim. If that were true, then the focus would be on Netanyahu, who refused to accept any returned hostages, even if the returns were unconditional. Instead, the artists continue to rally support for a full invasion of Gaza.
Missing from the conversation are the over 20,000 kidnapped Palestinians, including over 2,000 children, currently held in Israeli prisons and black sites. Four in Ten Palestinian men have spent time in Israeli jails without a fair trial. Palestinians in these prisons are subjected to rape, abuse, torture, forced sterilization, and modern slavery. Many are disappeared and never seen again. When Israel expelled 18,000 Gazan workers in October, more than 12,000 were immediately sent to prison for not having an entry permit. They are now forced to live and work in Israeli prisons with minimal – if any – pay.
As of November 2023, Israel has killed more than 12,000 Palestinians, over 90% of whom are civilians and 40% children. Western governments are using our tax dollars to commit genocide and it is up to us to change the conversation. Learn about more resources here.
You are free to print these posters and use them however you want. Want to make your own? You can download the .psd (Photoshop) file here. I will post more posters here shortly. If you know of any other names to add to these posters, do not hesitate to reach out.
